Yesterday, May 17, was the Tupelo Honey Festival in Wewa (Wewahitchka). My friend and old officemate from school is doing her dissertation on tupelo honey production. For anyone not familiar, tupelo honey is the best you can get - it won't granulate. Plus, it tastes amazing. We have a bee box in our yard, but our honey would I guess best be termed "wildflower". It's still better than anything you can buy at the store though, and the bees help pollinate our garden. Oh, and I suppose I should throw in a public service announcement here - don't use pesticides in your yard! It doesn't just kill pests; it kills bees too - and that's a bad thing.
That said, here's a picture in front of Mr. Smiley's booth. This is me, seven-months pregnant. Just nine weeks to go!
