All Better

Penny woke up this morning after a rather fitful night and her fever was all gone. I, however, was exhausted because she must have woken up half a dozen times or more during the night. She never actually woke up, but just "rustled around" so I never got up, but I was awake listening to her in case she did wake all the way up. I was worried her fever got worse during the night and that I should check on her, but I weighed that against waking her up "for real" and the disruption that would cause. I figured she would "really" wake up if she got to feeling very bad, so I just let her put herself back to sleep every time. But that of course made sleeping even harder for me because I was laying there wondering if I was doing the right thing and hoping her fever wasn't going through the roof while I was just laying there instead of checking on her. As it turns out, I guess I made the right call, but I turned my stomach in knots worrying about it and was exhausted at work today to boot. Ah, the joys of motherhood.
