Check up Visit

Penny saw the cardiologist today. We were supposed to go back to Birmingham, but it seemed so outlandish to drive up there just for an echocardiogram, so we talked to Penny's regular doctor about seeing someone in Montgomery. They took her blood pressure twice, once on her arm and once on her opposite leg. Then they did an EKG. She's a petite little thing, and seeing her laying there on the table shirtless with all those twenty or so cords hanging off of her brought a few tears to my eyes (that I successfully hid), but she did great. She seemed to think it was pretty neat, and the nurse/technician was really awesome. She liked the cardiologist too. He did the actual echocardiogram. She started to cry when he turned the lights off (he didn't warn her first), but she's so used to all of this now that she settled down into quiet resignation pretty quickly. This afternoon she wanted me to take my shirt off so she could put stickers and lotion on my chest (to replicate her experience this morning)! I let her rub some on my tummy. Anyway, everything looked good. We have to go back in three months, and she has to continue on the aspirin for another three weeks or so. We are so, so happy!

Great news that there appears to be no lasting effects!
