In addition to a lot of food samples (including some kid's snacks I can't wait to try out on Penny), it came with an entire ream of coffee leaf paper and two full size bars of goat's milk soap. There are a lot of coupons too. I was so excited to win something. This, together with the Whole Foods Market Cookbook that Chris gave me for Christmas, will help me with my New Year's resolution to eat better.

Good Things
So, I've had a few good things happen to me in the last week or two. First, I found out that my dissertation didn't just disappear into the library, unread by anyone but my mom and dad. And second, I won something! I never win anything. I entered a contest with Mambo Sprouts - an organic food company. You can read about the contest here. The deal was that they drew a name everyday for twelve days, and I was one of the winners! A package came in the mail on Christmas Eve. This is all the stuff I got:

Congratulations on the win! Keep me up to date on some of the "eating better" foods/recipes.
By the way, how is coffee leaf paper used?
love, Mom
Thanks. I plan to do something new once a week on Mondays, and cook like normal the rest of the week. I am thinking maybe "meatless Mondays" and doing vegan or vegetarian recipes. Portabello mushroom club sandwiches are up first on my list. Maybe I'll make a regular weekly blog post featuring recipes and the results.
I haven't tried the coffee leaf paper yet, but it looks just like regular printer paper, only not bleached so that it is a bit off-white.
Of particular interest to me in the package are several fruit chews that are all made just with fruit - no added sugar, preservatives, or artificial colors. So, I can indulge in my love of all things gummy without the junk whatever that gummy bears are made of.
