That's My Daughter

So, I may have underestimated P on the -ing thing. Tonight at supper she said (with a mouthful of bread), "I chewing bread." (Then she said, "Wa-wa." (water). I pointed to her sippy cup and she pointed to my cup and said, "NO. Mama wa-wa.")

Also, this evening she said, "swimming." I used to take baths with her more often and when I did I would sometimes lay her back in the water so she could float on her back while I supported her. I hadn't done that in awhile, but last night I laid her on her back with both my arms under her and told her she was "going swimming." She seemed to enjoy it, but was tired and as usual was ready to get out of the tub after a few minutes. Tonight after I finished bathing her, she said, "swimming." I was surprised that she remembered from last night. So, I laid her back and let her float a little (even though the water was actually kind of shallow). Then she said, "sit," so I sat her up. Almost immediately she said, "swimming," again, so I laid her back down. She floated there looking around for a few seconds and then looked over at me and said, "I swimming." I said, "That's right. You're swimming."

Penny really, really likes to go outside. She would spend the entire day out in the yard if she could. Tray always says, "That's my daughter. She wants to be outside." Well, she likes to swim - that's my daughter too!
