Phobias and Dinosaurs (but not Dinosaur Phobias)

Penny is scared of balloons! She doesn't like them much at all. The ones I got for my birthday are now laying on the ground in the corner awaiting their fate as bow targets for Tray. Penny will not go near them. If they move at all she will almost start to cry. It's one of those weird toddler phobias I guess. Every so often she'll get up the courage to go near them but then always runs away.

One cute thing she's been doing is "roaring" like a dinosaur. Her aunt and uncle got her a dinosaur book last Christmas and the other day when I was reading it to her I asked her, "what does a dinosaur say?" - like we do with most of the animals we read about. (On that note, cats apparently say "cat, cat, cat!" - who knew?) Anyway, I told her they say, "rawr" and now when she sees a dinosaur or someone says the word she says "rawr" in the cutest little voice. We have a towel (a word she can also say now btw) that has a dinosaur on the hood part and the last time we used it she took one look at the towel and went "rawr". It's just so stinkin' cute.

Also, Penny likes ketchup. I made some bubble and squeak cakes this evening (it's like mashed potato sticks baked in the oven - a recipe I got from a baby led weaning blog I visited) and she liked them, but really liked them once her Daddy supplied ketchup. A toddler who likes ketchup? I know, I know. Shocking.
