K

I've noticed Penny has learned the hard "k" sound and is favoring words that have that sound. She likes "rock," "sock," etc., as well as "cow". I noticed tonight that she wanted to say "duck" a lot too. She's always pronounced it more like, "duct," but this evening she was making a point to say it with the hard K at the end like she was testing out the new sound. Language is really neat. Pete (my old linguistics professor, and fly-fisherman extraordinaire) would be so proud. That wasn't one of my favorite subjects, but now I find it fascinating.
